In Memoriam – Kathi Effenberger

KATHI EFFENBERGER, OUR LONG TERM BOOKKEEPER

It is with great sadness that we announce that Kathi Effenberger passed away on March 6th. As you are aware, Kathi served as the JLS book keeper for the past decade plus. Many of us were lucky enough to work very closely with her during our time in the League and she became a trusted friend and confidant. Kathi displayed tremendous tenacity and spirit in her fight of terminal cancer over the past two years, her doctors often shook their heads as she consistently defied the odds and statistics of her disease. Luckily her family, friends and many JLS members had an opportunity to be by her side during her last few days, she passed away at home surrounded by her wonderful husband, Dave, and her family. The JLS is incredibly grateful for the service she has provided to us over the years. Her family is still working out the details of a memorial but believe that there will be a service to celebrate Kathi near what would have been her 65th birthday on June 8th. As we receive more details, we will keep the membership updated.

We have sent flowers on behalf of the JLS, but recognize that Dave would greatly appreciate your cards, memories and condolences.

You can send those to Dave at:

The JLS has set up a meal delivery service for the Effenberger family with the generosity of many of our members. If you wish to make a donation for meals, please contact Jill Jackson at jillajackson@hotmail.com. Please keep the Effenberger family in your thoughts and prayers.
